Yennora Public School provides a unique small-school environment within a heavily urbanised and industrialised setting in the Sydney South West. The 163 students represent a wide range of cultural groups with approximately 91% from non-English speaking backgrounds. A culture of inclusiveness and involvement characterises the school allowing the students opportunities to participate in a wide range of initiatives despite the small population. There is a strong commitment to improving Literacy and Numeracy standards of all students and a number of specific programs have been implemented to achieve improved outcomes. The school has received funding from the Priority School Funding Program to implement many initiatives in Literacy and Numeracy areas. Ensuring a successful start to Kindergarten our school established a playgroup and a Little Learners program.
